Coca-Cola's Next CEO Looks to Get Local -- WSJ

Coca-Cola's incoming CEO says the company needs to shop local for growth. Henrique Braun, who will take over as chief executive next month, said Coke is using its trove of data in local markets to be more responsive to local customer needs, and market accordingly. That approach can also help Coke find and incubate small brands that could grow to become billion-dollar behemoths.

Braun pointed to the success of Santa Clara, a dairy brand that traces its roots to Mexico, which recently hit the billion-dollar sales mark. "Local intimacy, it's very important," Braun said, speaking to investors at the Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference in Orlando, Fla.
