Li-S Energy (ASX:LIS) has received the first AU$1.9 million tranche of a AU$7.8 million grant from Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under the advancing renewables program, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The company has also engaged Hatch to conduct the phase four front-end loading feasibility study for a planned large-scale facility with a target production capacity of up to 1 gigawatt-hour per year, the filing said.

The study will outline the technical, infrastructure, and commercial framework needed to scale beyond its existing phase three automated production line in Geelong, Victoria, the filing added.
