The Philippines' producer price index (PPI) for manufacturing rose 1.5% year over year in January, faster than the 0.8% increase in December 2025, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed on Friday.
The acceleration was driven mainly by a 1.3% rise in the manufacture of food products, reversing a 0.1% decline in the previous month.
Faster growth in the manufacture of computer, electronic, and optical products at 2.6%, and a 2.2% increase in machinery and equipment except electrical, also supported the expansion.
Monthly, the PPI climbed 0.5% in January, up from the 0.1% growth in December, data showed.
