Technology stocks were rising pre-bell Thursday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) 0.2% higher and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) up 0.7%.

Sony Group (SONY) shares were up more than 3% after the company said it is increasing its share repurchase program to a maximum of 250 billion Japanese yen ($1.60 billion) from 150 billion yen previously.

Nvidia (NVDA) stock was up 0.9% after the company reported higher fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings and revenue, and issued fiscal Q1 revenue outlook above analysts' expectations.

Baidu (BIDU) shares were down more than 3% after the company posted lower Q4 non-GAAP earnings and revenue.
