Shimizu (TYO:1803) said it will acquire all shares of American Engineering Corporation to make the Okinawa-based construction company a wholly owned subsidiary, aiming to strengthen capabilities in U.S. military base projects and data center construction, according to a Thursday company statement.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in late May 2026 or later.

Shimizu said the acquisition supports its strategy to expand through partnerships and acquisitions while strengthening its engineering segment and diversifying revenue sources.
