Trump is expected to ask U.S. defense companies to speed up production.

President Donald Trump is expected to ask defense companies to speed up production when he meets with them Friday amid his call for an unconditional surrender by Iran.

The White House says the meeting with executives from Lockheed Martin (LMT), RTX Corp. $(RTX)$ and several other Pentagon contractors was scheduled weeks ago. Yet it comes shortly a Trump social-media post appearing to rule out talks with Iran as the conflict drags down stocks SPX and as oil prices (CL.1) shoot up.

"There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!" Trump posted on his Truth Social platform Friday morning.

The Trump administration says the U.S. military has more than sufficient stockpiles of weapons and ammunition to continue its operations in Iran.

"Nevertheless, President Trump has always been intensely focused on strengthening our military, which is why this meeting with defense contractors was scheduled weeks ago," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

"The president will continue to call on these U.S. companies to more speedily build American-made weapons, which are the absolute best in the world," Leavitt said.

Northrop Grumman $(NOC)$, Boeing $(BA)$, Honeywell $(HON)$ and L3Harris Technologies $(LHX)$ are also scheduled to attend, according to the White House.
