Shares of Acco Brands Down Following 4Q Revenue Decline, Soft Outlook

Acco Brands' stock was lower after the company reported a decline in revenue during the fourth quarter and guided for full-year earnings below Wall Street expectations.

Shares were down 7.5% to $3.62 in late morning on Monday. The stock has fallen 25% in the past year.

The consumer products company before the market opened reported a profit of $21.3 million, or 23 cents a share, compared with a profit of $20.6 million, or 21 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, the company reported adjusted earnings of 38 cents a share, in line with the expectations of analysts polled by FactSet.

Net sales fell to $428.8 million, down from $448.1 million a year prior. Analysts were expecting $431.9 million.

For the current first quarter, the company is projecting an adjusted loss of 3 cents to 6 cents a share, and net sales growth in a range of flat to 3%.

For the full year, Acco is expecting adjusted earnings per share of 84 cents and 89 cents a share, and net sales growth in a range of flat to 3%, with

Analysts are expecting full-year adjusted earnings of $1.05 a share, according to a survey by FactSet.
