Uber Technologies (UBER) said Monday that it has expanded its Women Preferences program throughout the US.
The program, which launched in five pilot cities in August, gives women the option to be picked up only by women drivers, the company said. It also said the program provides women the opportunity to reserve a trip with a woman driver in advance, and set a preference for a female driver in Uber's app settings.
Uber said that although it can't guarantee women drivers will always be available, selecting a preference with women drivers increases the chance of being matched with one.
