Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI said Monday it is acquiring Promptfoo, an artificial intelligence security platform that allows enterprises to detect and fix vulnerabilities in AI systems during the development phase.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Following the acquisition, OpenAI said it will integrate Promptfoo's technology into OpenAI Frontier and continue building the open-source command-line interface and library that Promptfoo developed for assessing and red-teaming large language model applications.
