Austral Gold (ASX:AGD) began a phased exploration program at its Juncal project in Chile, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The first phase in March and April will focus on geological mapping and over 1,000 meters of channel sampling using a diamond-blade rock saw. The second phase in the June quarter will involve ground magnetics and induced polarization surveys to support drill target definition, while the third phase in the September quarter will target 10,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling.
Its shares fell 2% in recent trading on Thursday.
