Luggage manufacturer VIP Industries (NSE:VIPIND, BOM:507880) has appointed Rahul Poddar as chief financial officer, effective Tuesday, according to a same-day disclosure to the Indian stock exchanges.

The company's shares were down nearly 2% in Wednesday's trade.

Prior to joining the company, Poddar was the group controller at Reliance Retail Ventures and as CFO at Reliance Jewels of Reliance Retail.

Poddar succeeds Manish Desai, who stepped down as CFO on Tuesday, to take up a new role within the organization.
