Matthews International Says Arbitrator Recognized Company's Right to Sell Dry Battery Electrode Equipment

Matthews International (MATW) said Tuesday that on Feb. 13, an arbitrator entered an interim decision, recognizing the company's right to develop, produce, market and sell its proprietary dry battery electrode equipment to third parties.

The interim decision includes a narrow injunction that prevents Matthews from using certain parts in dry battery electrode machines, but this injunction is not expected to materially hinder its operations or sales, the company said.

The arbitrator's interim decision further denied an injunctive relief requested by Tesla (TSLA), thereby rejecting Tesla's attempts to prohibit Matthews from selling its dry battery electrode technology and equipment, the company added.
