Shares of KinderCare Learning sank after the company reported a fourth-quarter loss and issued fiscal-year earnings guidance below Wall Street's expectations.

The stock fell 29% to $2.40 in off-hours trading. It was down 79% over the past 12 months through Thursday's close.

For the fourth quarter, the company reported a loss of $1.50 a share, weighed down by a $193.6 million increase in impairment losses of goodwill and long-lived assets, which was due to declines in the company's stock price.

The company guided for fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings of 10 cents to 20 cents a share.

Analysts had been expecting fiscal-year adjusted earnings of 63 cents a share, according to FactSet.
