Syrah Resources (ASX:SYR) said the US International Trade Commission reached a final negative determination in the antidumping and countervailing duty investigation into whether graphite active anode material imports into the US from China are materially stunting the establishment of a domestic graphite active anode material industry in the US, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The antidumping and countervailing duty rates of 160% to 170%, as determined by the US Department of Commerce, will not be applied to active anode material imported from China.
Syrah said its position remained that active anode material from China is being sold and imported into the US at unfairly low and subsidized prices for use in lithium-ion batteries, and Syrah, alongside the other petitioners, is considering its rights to appeal the commission's final determination.
The firm said it remained committed to the Vidalia active anode material facility in Louisiana.
Its shares fell 25% in recent trading on Friday, reaching a 14-year low.
