European natural-gas prices were soaring early Thursday, after attacks on key energy infrastructure were reported across the Middle East.

The benchmark Dutch TTF Gas Monthly Contract rallied 18% to 65 euros ($75) per megawatt hour, following attacks on infrastructure in Qatar -- the third biggest Liquefied Natural Gas $(LNG)$ exporter in the world, according to the International Energy Agency. It paired back gains earlier in the day, when futures hit $85 per megawatt hour.

Qatar said Wednesday that several of its LNG facilities were the "subject of missile attacks," causing fires and extensive damage. The state-owned QatarEnergy reported strikes to the country's Ras Laffan Industrial City -- home to a major LNG hub.

In a strongly worded Truth Social post early Thursday, President Donald Trump warned against further attacks in Qatar, saying the U.S. "will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field," which Iran controls, if Tehran struck out.

Elsewhere, Abu Dhabi authorities said Thursday they had intercepted missiles targeting Habshan gas facilities and the Bab oilfield, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Abu Dhabi media officials. The gas facilities were shut down and no injuries were reported.
