Tech stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 1.5% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 2.1%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 2%.

In corporate news, Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google unit is at the center of calls from European publishers, tech firms and startups urging EU regulators to wrap up a nearly two-year investigation and impose a fine on Google, Reuters reported. Alphabet shares were up 1.2%.
