HIVE Digital (HIVE) said Wednesday that its BUZZ AI Cloud platform in Asuncion, Paraguay is now operational, with live GPU computing workloads running on the system.

The company said the first users include a research team from Columbia University, which is using the platform to train artificial intelligence models.

HIVE said the deployment is the first step in its plan to expand AI and high-performance computing infrastructure in Paraguay, using the country's renewable energy resources. The system is designed to handle large-scale AI training and data processing tasks, it added.

The company said it plans to use data from this initial setup to guide future expansion of its AI cloud operations in the region.
