European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline in Tuesday Trading

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower late Tuesday morning, declining 0.31% to 1,701.97 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and telecommunications firm Nokia (NOK), which rose 2.1% and 2%, respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which rose 1.2%.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Evaxion (EVAX) and software company SAP (SAP), which lost 4.6% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by internet browser company Opera (OPRA) and biopharmaceutical firm DBV Technologies (DBVT), which fell 4.3% and 4.1% respectively.

The gainers from the UK were led by oil and gas companies BP (BP) and Shell (SHEL), which advanced 2.1% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by medical device maker Smith & Nephew (SNN) and biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN), which increased 1.4% and 1.2% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX), which fell 5.9% and 4.3% respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava (DAVA) and Silence Therapeutics (SLN), which were down 3.6% and 2.3% respectively.
