Airline and cruise stocks rose after President Trump said the U.S. would postpone further strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days following "productive" talks.

United Airlines climbed 4.1% in premarket trading. Delta rose 3.6%. American Airlines gained 5.4%.

Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean rose 3.4%. Carnival was up 4.1%. Norwegian Cruise Line gained 3.6%.

Trump said Monday the U.S. and Iran had "very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East." Those discussions would continue this week, Trump said.

Over the weekend, Trump said he would attack all of Iran's energy facilities if Iran didn't fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

But on Monday, Trump said the U.S. would hold off on the energy-related strikes "subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions."

The conflict in the Middle East has raised fears of an extended surge in energy prices, which would drag down the margins of airlines and cruise lines by increasing fuel costs.
