Golar LNG Initiates Strategic Review, Hires Goldman Sachs as Adviser

Golar LNG is evaluating strategic alternatives and hired Goldman Sachs as a financial adviser.

Golar said Wednesday that the goal of the review is to accelerate the floating liquefied natural gas growth pipeline, as it aims to become a pure-play FLNG company.

The review would include a comprehensive evaluation of Golar's platform, including its FLNG technology, contract backlog and growth pipeline.

Potential alternatives to be explored include a sale of the company, merger, divestiture of assets, or further structure optimization.

There is no set timetable for the review, Golar said.
