BRC Group Holdings (RILY) said Monday that it has launched BRC Specialty Finance, a new lending division that will offer customized funding options for underserved mid-sized and small-cap US public companies with market capitalizations below $1 billion.

The unit will provide adaptable credit structures ranging from $10 million to $100 million for organizations that are typically bypassed by conventional lenders, BRC Group said.

The operation combines capital markets data with credit underwriting to customize loans according to the distinct liquidity profiles of each borrower, it said.

Shares of the company were up more than 1% in recent Monday trading.
