Former Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett is giving fans another chance to dine with him -- along with basketball star Stephen Curry and author and entrepreneur Ayesha Curry.
Buffett, 95, said Tuesday said he would do another charity lunch auction to raise money for Glide, a San Francisco nonprofit organization, and the Eat.Learn.Play Foundation, an Oakland philanthropy started by the Currys.
Bidders will be vying for the chance to attend the charity lunch, which will take place in Omaha on June 24 with Buffett and the Currys attending. Online bidding will start on May 7 on eBay and conclude on May 14.
Buffett's last charity lunch in 2022 for Glide raised a record $19 million. That auction was billed as Buffett's last for Glide but he changed his mind. The winning bid for the new lunch could easily top $19 million.
Buffett discussed the lunch in a CNBC interview Tuesday.
In a statement, Buffett said: "Now the good news: GLIDE recently got lucky. Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha, have a deep and sustained interest in helping the children of Oakland enjoy better futures and, in a big way, have given life to that belief. Stephen has not sought plaudits or, on any scale, funding from others."
"He, Ayesha and I have joined forces to auction a lunch in Omaha on June 24(th) with the proceeds split between GLIDE and the Currys' Eat.Learn.Play. Foundation," Buffett said. "Both GLIDE and Stephen's foundation can flourish in the future from this partnership."
