European Energy Stocks Fall as Trump Says U.S. Will Leave Iran Soon -- Market Talk

0722 GMT - European energy stocks fall in opening trade as oil prices drop on President Trump's comments that the U.S. would be leaving Iran in two to three weeks with or without a deal. This is giving traders some optimism for de-escalation. Brent crude falls 4.3% to $99.58 a barrel, while WTI drops 4% to $89.46 a barrel. In London, BP is down 2.2%, Shell falls 1.6% and Harbour Energy trades 4.4% lower. France's TotalEnergies drops 1.7%. Spain's Repsol falls 4.5% and Italy's Eni is down 3.1%.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
