Residential Roofing Prices to Jump From Iran Conflict -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

12:25 ET--Residential roofing manufacturers are implementing freight surcharges as a result of the conflict in Iran and more price increases in the roofing industry, which includes QXO and Owens Corning, will likely be needed soon, say Truist analysts Keith Hughes and Julian Nirmal. War in the Middle East is driving up diesel prices, which has led private roofing suppliers GAF and Tamko to raise their freight surcharges last month on all residential orders. "We expect most of the industry to follow these increases," the analysts say. "We suspect that more pricing will be needed in residential roofing even if crude lightens somewhat."
