11:43 ET -- For Canada's energy majors, quarterly earnings are likely to take a back seat to the broader macro backdrop, says BMO's Randy Ollenberger. Before the U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran and the resulting closure of the Strait of Hormuz, investors were fixated on a "super-glut" narrative. That view has flipped, the analyst says, with geopolitics now overshadowing backward-looking 1Q results, though he says singled-out "outsized surprises" are still possible. Ollenberger sees Suncor, Cenovus, Athabasca Oil and Strathcona as the most likely beneficiaries of the new market climate. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
