Chinese artificial intelligence startup Shengshu Technology obtained 2 billion yuan from a funding round led by Alibaba's (HKG:9988) cloud unit, according to multiple media reports.

The funding will help the startup support the development of its "general world model" that will simulate human perception and interaction, Reuters reported Friday.

Shengshu did not say when its model would be commercially available.

Baidu Ventures and Luminous Ventures also backed the funding round, Bloomberg reported separately.
