The stock was down 22% to $13.67 in after-hours trading Wednesday. Through the close shares were down 39% this year.

The in vitro diagnostics company said its preliminary unaudited revenue expectations for the first quarter are $615 million to $620 million. Analysts were expecting $677.8 million, according to FactSet.

Based on its first-quarter projection, the company said it can still reach the low end of its full-year outlook.

Visits in the U.S. for flu-like illnesses decreased 30% from the prior year.

Distributor sales in China were also slower, which the company said could be related to the proposed China National Health Security Administration reimbursement rate reductions.

Certain orders in Europe, the Middle East and Africa were delayed due to the conflict in Iran.
