North American Construction Group said it has expanded the scope of contract with a metallurgical coal producer in Australia, boosting the revenue expected from the project.

The provider of heavy civil construction and mining services said Tuesday that the contract was won through its subsidiary MacKellar Group, amending and expanding an existing five-year contract with the coal metallurgical producer in Queensland.

The expanded scope includes additional fully-maintained equipment and related services, including eight Komatsu 240-ton haul trucks. The company expects to generate about 125 million Canadian dollars ($91.6 million) more revenue, increasing MacKellar's scope at the mine site by about half more.

North American Construction said the contract maintains the expiry date of Sept. 30, 2029, but the new expanded scope is set to begin on May 1 of this year and reaching full run-rate by August.
