AMC Entertainment (AMC) said Monday that more than 4 million moviegoers attended screenings at its US theaters and ODEON Cinemas locations internationally between April 22 and April 26, driven by the strong debut of MICHAEL.
The film generated a reported $97 million at the domestic box office and $217 million globally, marking the biggest opening weekend for a biopic, AMC said. The tally includes preview screenings earlier in the week, it said.
AMC said the performance, alongside strong holdover titles, boosted overall attendance.
