Banco Santander (SAN) reported Q1 earnings Wednesday of 0.36 euro ($0.42) per share, up from 0.21 euro a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected 0.27 euro.
Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was 15.14 billion euros, up from 14.58 billion euros a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 15.04 billion euros.
For 2026, the bank expects higher profits and affirmed its previous guidance of mid-single-digit revenue growth.
Beyond 2026, the company continues to expect double-digit revenue growth in constant euro terms in 2027.
Shares of the company were up 2.6% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
