U.S. Treasury Yields Edge Lower, Focus Shifts to Fed Decision -- Market Talk

0623 GMT - U.S. Treasury yields edge marginally lower. Although traders continue to keep a close eye on events in the Middle East, focus is shifting to Wednesday's Federal Reserve's policy decision, where interest rates are expected to stay on hold at 3.50%-3.75%. Markets will be watching for hints on the future policy path as money markets price a small risk of a rate cut this year. "In the near term...the Fed is likely to wait and see given the high level of uncertainty, and our forecast is for a rate cut in December," SEB's Amanda Sundstrom says in a note. The two-year Treasury yield falls 0.4 basis points to 3.838%; the 10-year yield declines 0.6 basis points to 4.346%, according to Tradeweb. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
