0410 GMT - StarHub's dividend pledge appears to be its saving grace amid a disappointing 1Q operating performance, says Citi analyst Arthur Pineda in a note. All three of the Singapore telecommunications operator's consumer business lines showed weaker revenue trends in 1Q, he says. However, the company seems committed to a dividend of around 6 Singapore cents a share, or 80% of earnings per share, whichever is higher, he says. This implies an around 6% dividend yield and could cap any downside to shares, the analyst adds. He doesn't expect potentially higher 2Q earnings to excite the market, as gains are likely to come from a partial asset sale instead of operations. Citi retains its neutral rating and S$1.14 target price. Shares fall 1.0% to S$1.00. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
