Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI is in talks with the European Commission over access to its new artificial intelligence model, while Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic has yet to release its Mythos in the bloc, a Commission spokesperson said

"We welcome OpenAI's transparency and intent to give the Commission access to its new model," Thomas Regnier told reporters, according to an EU briefing posted online. "This will allow us to follow the deployment of this model very closely and to address certain security concerns in a closer way."

As for Anthropic's Mythos model, Regnier said "there is also a level of engagement" following four or five meetings with the company, but that the discussions with OpenAI and Anthropic are "at different stages."

OpenAI and Anthropic did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
