Carlyle (CG) and Yum China (YUMC) are among the companies seeking to acquire a Jardine Matheson restaurant unit, which runs KFC and Pizza Hut chains in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other Asian locations, in a deal worth around $400 million, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.

Taiwan's Uni-President and other private equity firms are also vying for the business, with non-binding offers due this week, the report said, citing the sources.

Jardine Matheson declined to comment. Carlyle and Yum China did not reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
