Asian Currencies Mostly Weaken as Traders Focus on Trump-Xi Summit -- Market Talk

0132 GMT - Asian currencies mostly weaken against the dollar in the morning session. The second day of the Trump-Xi summit in Beijing remains the dominant geopolitical risk event, UOB's Global Economics & Markets Research team says in a note. Markets will watch for any formal announcements before President Trump leaves Beijing in the afternoon, UOB adds. The dollar is up 0.1% to 158.47 yen, 0.4% higher to 1,498.96 Korean won, and 0.2% higher at 61.664 Philippine peso, according to LSEG data.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
