Nuro appointed Mike Mancini to its top finance role, as the company prepares to launch its robotaxi service with Uber and Lucid in the San Francisco Bay Area later this year.
As CFO, Mancini will lead Nuro's financial strategy, planning and operations, the autonomous vehicle company said Tuesday. He will additionally help scale its technology, strengthen its global commercial partnerships and support its long-term growth.
Mancini previously served as finance chief at Energy Recovery, Astranis Space Technologies and Aerion Supersonic, according to Nuro. Earlier in his career, he worked in private equity and public markets investing.
"Nuro is building one of the most important technologies of our time, and I'm excited to join the company at such a pivotal stage," Mancini said. "Nuro has a clear vision, a strong technical foundation and a thoughtful approach to commercialization."
Nuro earlier this year said it began on-road testing for its planned robotaxi service with Uber and Lucid. The testing evaluates a number of capabilities, including Nuro's artificial intelligence foundation model, as well as closed-course testing and simulation.
The company said last month it has raised $106 million so far in its ongoing Series E funding round, valuing Nuro at roughly $6 billion.
