Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) began pre-drilling earthworks at its Christmas Creek manganese and gold project in Western Australia, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

Geophysical surveying is expected to begin next week, with the arrival of Atlas Geophysics to undertake extensional ground gravity surveying and Moombarriga Geoscience to undertake induced polarization surveying.

Drilling at Kuro is targeted to start in early June.

Its shares were up 10% in recent trading on Friday.
