Passage Bio ended its collaboration and licensing agreement with Gemma Biotherapeutics and paid a $2.3 million fee to terminate its lease of office space in Philadelphia.

The company cut the agreement with Gemma last week, according to a Wednesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Under the terms of the agreement, Gemma had conducted Huntington's disease research for Passage Bio's research program, while giving the company an option to conduct mutually-agreed research programs for four central nervous system indications.

Passage Bio also paid a termination fee of $2.3 million to end its lease of roughly 37,000 square feet of office space at 2005 Market Street in Philadelphia. The lease was signed in April 2020 and set to expire in December 2031.

The company had subleased nearly all of the office space for a period beginning in 2023, according to the filing.
