Nomura Holdings (NMR) raised its long-term profit and return targets after reporting a second consecutive year of record net income, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

The Japanese firm now aims to generate at least 750 billion Japanese yen ($4.7 billion) in annual pretax profit by the fiscal year ending March 2031, up 50% from its earlier target of more than 500 billion yen, according to the report.

Nomura also lifted its return on equity target to 10%-12% from a previous goal of 8%-10% or more, Bloomberg said, citing an investor presentation released by the firm.

Nomura did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
