Mesa Laboratories' Stock Slips as 4Q Growth Misses Targets

Mesa Laboratories shares fell Wednesday after the company reported slower growth than expected in its fourth quarter.

Shares fell 17% to $88.15.

For the three months ended March 31, the maker of sterilization-assurance and calibration equipment for regulated industries on Wednesday reported a slight increase in revenue to $63.7 million, up from $62.1 million a year earlier.

Analysts on FactSet expected a greater rise to $65.2 million.

Mesa posted a narrowed loss of $4.1 million, or 75 cents a share, compared with a loss of $7.1 million, or $1.31 a share, a year earlier.

According to FactSet, analysts expected a profit of 40 cents a share.

Chief Executive Siddhartha Kadia is currently in his first 100 days since taking over the role in mid-April. He said he is conducting his review of his first three months, and said he expects to provide guidance for the rest of the year at the release of its first-half results.
