Boeing Says Monthly MAX Output is Primed to Climb -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
05/27

1034 ET - Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg says the plane maker recently passed a "capstone review" of its 737 MAX production, clearing the way for monthly output to climb 47 jets a month "in the next couple of months." Speaking at a Bernstein investor conference, the Boeing chief says production of the workhorse narrow-body jet has been going well at 42 a month since last fall, giving the company confidence in the next step. Faster MAX production is key to the company's goal of dousing its cash burn this year and more quickly tackling its growing backlog of existing orders. Shares rise 2.8%.
