BRP Inc., the maker of Ski-Doos and Sea-Doos, is scheduled to report its first-quarter results on Thursday. Here is what you need to know.

REVENUE: Analysts expect revenue to rise to 2.12 billion Canadian dollars (US$1.53 billion) according to FactSet, up from C$1.85 billion a year earlier.

EARNINGS PER SHARE: According to the consensus forecast, earnings per share are expected to come in at C$1.20 apiece, down from C$2.19 a year earlier.

ADJUSTED EPS: On an adjusted basis, analysts expect C$1.15 a share.

The company's stock recently traded at C$80.32 and has fallen about 17% since the start of the year.

WHAT TO WATCH

--The amended S232 tariff applies a 25% tax on all full vehicles imported into the U.S. and the company is anticipating an extra C$500 million gross tariff-exposure hit. Investors will want more details on the effect of the tariffs on the business. "Our estimate of the per-vehicle tariff is excessive and places BRP at a relative disadvantage to several of its peers with more manufacturing content in the U.S.," TD Cowen analyst Brian Morrison says.

--Investors will also be keen to know how the company intends to navigate the new tariff dynamic, especially as it waits for improved visibility on the USMCA negotiations, Morrison says. "We believe it may require more meaningful operational change to maintain its industry leading competitive position," he adds.
