Loop Industries (LOOP) said late Wednesday its Loop Canada unit has secured funding of up to 2.9 million Canadian dollars ($2.1 million) and advisory services from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.

The company said the non-dilutive funding will support commercial deployment of its chemical recycling process for hard-to-recycle plastic waste.

Shares were up past 6% in after-hours activity.
