0856 GMT - Shares of Taiwanese chip and photonics companies powered the Taiex past the 46000 milestone as AI enthusiasm got another jolt from a tech event in Taipei this week. Demand for AI-related chip and optoelectronic stocks was buoyed by remarks from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighting optical connectivity as a vital bottleneck for next-gen AI infrastructure. On the Taiex, optical and silicon photonics companies like LandMark Optoelectronics, Browave and EZconn rose by the daily 10% limit, while index heavyweight TSMC added 1.89%.
