Financial stocks were falling pre-bell Monday with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) declining by 0.6%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 1.5% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.9% higher.

BCB Bancorp (BCBP) has appointed veteran banking executive Thomas O'Brien as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately, the company said. BCB Bancorp shares were nearly 1% higher premarket.

Barings BDC (BBDC) stock was 0.3% higher after the company said it is terminating the original credit support agreement related to its purchase of Sierra Income.
