Can Yellow Fish Help Turn Around Campbell's Snacks Business? -- WSJ

Executives at soup-and-snack maker Campbell's are working to reinvigorate their snacks business, where demand has faltered. One key is Goldfish.

Todd Cunfer, Campbell's CFO, said the small, yellow cracker's sales have stabilized, but are still down by 1% or 2%. "We've got to grow Goldfish," he said. "That's the biggest and most profitable piece of the snacks portfolio."

Targeting families with kids again is bearing fruit, Campbell's said, after a bid several years ago to broaden Goldfish's appeal to adults. That included launching a version of the crackers for a limited time by the name "Chilean Sea Bass."

Now the company is prioritizing efforts like its recent collaboration with Pokemon. Campbell's shares slipped about 1.5% Monday.
