Shares of Rocket Cos. jumped after the mortgage lender said it wants to sell $1.2 billion of debt.
The stock was up 6.3%, at $13.13, midday Tuesday. Shares are still down 32% from where they started the year.
The Detroit company said before the opening bell that it is proposing to issue and sell two $600 million tranches of senior notes, one due 2031 and the other due 2034.
The notes are fully guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by each of the company's direct and indirect subsidiaries.
Proceeds will be used to repay senior notes due this year and other debt. The notes will be offered to qualified institutional investors.
