Caribou Biosciences' (CRBU) vispa-cel, an off-the-shelf cell therapy using gene editing technology, showed "durable" long-term responses in patients with relapsed or refractory B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma during an early-stage clinical trial, the company said Thursday.

Among the 27 patients that received a single dose of 80 million genetically edited cells, 82% showed overall response and 67% showed complete response, with a median progression-free survival of 17.1 months, the company said.

Vispa-cel showed a generally well-tolerated safety profile, the company said.

The company plans to enroll 250 patients in a late-stage clinical trial to be conducted at around 75 clinical trial sites worldwide, it said.

Shares of the company were up more than 4% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
