Xanadu Quantum Technologies (XNDU) said Wednesday it has achieved an average edge-coupling loss of 0.085 decibels per facet for its photonic chips.
The result improves a key performance metric for photonic quantum computers, where minimizing loss is critical for building fault-tolerant systems, Xanadu said.
The company said the milestone was supported by collaborations with Corning (GLW) on customized fiber and fiber-array solutions and with DISCO on wafer singulation.
Shares of Xanadu were 0.9% lower in Wednesday premarket trading.
