0631 GMT - Wee Hur's entry into Hong Kong's purpose-built student accommodation market appears encouraging to DBS Group Research's Jia Hui Ng. The move expands the Singapore property and construction company's exposure to one of Asia's most compelling student accommodation markets, she says in a note. The Hong Kong market for such accommodation is underpinned by strong policy-backed demand and a shortage of quality student housing. The shortfall in beds should support sustained occupancy and rental growth for well-located purpose-built student accommodation, she says. The investment should boost Wee Hur's earnings growth profile as the assets come on stream from 2H, she adds. DBS retains a buy rating and 90 Singapore cents target price. Shares are up 1.6% at S$0.65.(megan.cheah@wsj.com)
